AutoStore™, the leading robotic technology company specializing in automated storage and retrieval systems, today announced plans to showcase its R5 Pro Robot at NRF 2024. The company’s latest robotic solution, the R5 Pro, is designed to address the specific demands of large-scale e-commerce operations, emphasizing better space usage, higher performance, and reduced total ownership costs for companies running multi-shift operations at scale.
This event marks the first public showing of the R5 Pro Robot, of which more than 2,200 have already been produced and delivered to customers worldwide. Designed for use at large AutoStore sites, the R5 Pro can reduce the number of Robots required on the same Grid by up to 15%, enabling better routing and enhanced system efficiency.
“The R5 Pro is a testament to AutoStore’s commitment to helping retailers keep up with the growing demands of e-commerce by streamlining order fulfillment,” said Tobias Sjölin, CTO, Fulfillment, and logistics at Boozt. “With an enhanced battery life, the R5 Pro has accelerated our productivity across multi-shift operations, enabling us to get our products in the hands of customers faster, while optimizing warehouse space and reducing overall infrastructure costs.”
Key benefits of the R5 Pro Robot include:
Enhanced productivity: Customers can reduce the number of Robots required on the same grid by up to 15%, enabling better routing and enhanced system efficiency.
Continuous operations: The R5 Pro’s LTO (Lithium-Titanium Oxide) battery unlocks faster charging speeds, improving individual Robot availability during multi-shift operations.
Space and Cost Optimization: R5 Pro requires 83% less charging space, optimizing warehouse use while reducing electrical infrastructure costs.
At the show, visitors can learn more about AutoStore’s leading technology and several recent announcements, including the company’s recently expanded partnership with DHL. In addition to the R5 Pro, the R5 and CarouselPort solutions will also be on display.
