Maintenance works at the ZETES Power Plant, one of Türkiye’s key energy production facilities, were completed in less than half of the planned time thanks to the use of the GEDA 300 Z Boiler Hoist. The project highlights the impact of field execution, equipment selection, and coordination on operational efficiency.
Located on Türkiye’s Black Sea coast in Zonguldak, the ZETES Power Plant stands as a strategic asset for the country’s energy supply. With an annual production capacity of 16 TWh, the complex relies on well-planned maintenance operations to ensure continuity and reliability.
In this context, the annual boiler maintenance works were completed with remarkable efficiency, demonstrating the value of proper engineering planning and execution.
Completed in Less Than Half the Planned Time
In boiler maintenance operations, minimizing downtime is critical. In this project, Mod Industrial Services accelerated the scaffolding installation process by deploying three units of the GEDA 300 Z Boiler Hoist.
With a workforce of 60 personnel operating in two shifts, the project was completed in less than 4 days, significantly outperforming the initial 9-day schedule.
Within the confined boiler structure:
- Operations were carried out in an 18 × 18 × 65 m space
- A total of 180 tons of modular scaffolding material was installed
- The entire operation was completed in 128 hours
These results clearly demonstrate the direct impact of planning and equipment efficiency on project timelines.
Maximum Performance in Confined Spaces
Access in boiler maintenance is typically limited to manholes of approximately 45 cm in diameter. In such constrained environments, modular and easily installable equipment becomes essential.
The GEDA 300 Z Boiler Hoist, with its fully dismantlable platform, enables fast transport and installation within confined spaces. With a load capacity of 300 kg and a lifting speed of 25 m/min, it provides a significant advantage in time-critical maintenance operations.
